Description: This course provides an overview of electronic access control applications for door openings including, mechanical locking, stand alone keypad, electronic cylinder, hard wired, wireless, and power over Ethernet solutions.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

• Review continuum of mechanical, stand – alone, networked, and intelligent electronic access control products
• Understand how converged technologies are driving the development of sophisticated electronic access control solutions
• Examine the advantages and disadvantages of intelligent EAC products and their appropriate application
• Learn the correct questions to ask and language to use when writing electronic access control products into specifications

Description: This session will focus on security design and its effect as they apply to door openings and access control and discuss why “green” needs to be everyone’s concern.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

• Write clear, correct, and concise specifications for aesthetically designed architectural openings
• Explore benefits and understand challenges of utilizing aesthetic doors and hardware
• Consider the various codes related to doors and hardware, which affect product selection
• Describe various designs and color/finishes available to create an aesthetically pleasing opening
